Opening Remarks to Students by Les Meszaros, the Founder of MICE:
2007-2008 School Year

Hello and greetings to You All.

I am Les Meszaros along with Professor Joe Salamone, the Man behind the MICE (Meszaros International Center of Entrepreneurship) ETP program you are participating in. Congratulations, you made an excellent choice. By attending and completing this course you have invested in your future and in others close to you.

You all by now know who I am as a person and what I have achieved professionally, so I will devote My brief remarks to providing You, with the best guidance and leadership I can give You to best prepare You for Your journey in life.

I want to leave you with three key words to think about and take with you on your journey.

'Success'

It is extremely important for each of you to define what success means to you personally and how you measure or gauge your success.
Is it having money?, a lot of money?, or new home?, a lot of friends?, a title?, is it being accepted and admired by others that’s important, or is it a combination of things that defines success for You. You will each need a plan to describe and define your goals and aspirations for success. Just like a corporation has a strategic or long term plan, you will need a plan which you can use as a gauge or measuring stick to know where you are in relation to where you want to be. A plan is dynamic and is meant to be changed and modified as You progress in life. Everyone needs a starting point so you can measure and challenge your success and your progress. And that starting point is right here.

'Priority'

Priority is the second piece of advice I offer to you. In My view, there are three priorities in life.

A, Your health
B, Your family
C, Your carrier

a) Always remember your health always comes first, as without it you rarely can achieve anything in life. You have to guard, protect and nurture your health, and never take it for granted.

b) The same is true about your family. Your family is your lifeline. And you have to work to keep your family together, strong, healthy and most importantly happy. "Show me a happy man and I will show you a happy family".

'Character'

The word character combines your personal and professional ethics and morality. Your character will define your name, your family and your legacy. It will become the real measure of who you are and how others in both your personal and professional life measure you. And importantly, how others describe you and view your life’s accomplishments.

Well students, I do hope you will take my comments too hart and I wish each and every one of you the very best life has to offer. God bless you always.

Thank you for you attention.
